Feelin’ Lucky

Hey Everyone! Today I have a guest on the blog, my handsome hubby. We are talking about why we love our Lucky Jeans. It’s a brand that has been around for quiet some time, but in case you are not familiar with them, here’s a few reasons why you should consider owning a pair!

We spent the day in VA yesterday so on our ride home, our conversation went a little like this:

Hey babe, I’m working on a post about jeans. Why do you like your Lucky Jeans so much? Side note: He’s super supportive of this blog passion of mine so he put thought in his answers which I love!

“I’m tall and have long legs, so its rare that I get a pair of jeans that fit true to size. They sit well on my waist and fit my thighs, because I have big legs. The stretchy aspect also plays a huge role in the fit in letting them be comfortable while I’m walking or sitting. I’m usually extremely uncomfortable. They obviously look great, but I’m all about comfort. I’ve had other jeans that have been comfortable but they compromise the good fit due to being baggy. These are the most comfortable, well fitting jeans I’ve owned.”

He has one pair that I have to keep clean because any time we are going somewhere I hear, “Hey babe, where’s my Lucky Jeans?” Because he is the master of ultimate comfort in clothing, I figured I would try a pair for myself. Here are some reasons I have loved mine so far:

They have held their fit through washes and wears. I’ve worn several brand names that stretch out after I’ve only had them on for a few hours. They also fit me in all the right places. I CAN’T STAND when jeans gather around my ankles or slide off my waist. Lastly, because of my obsession with dark wash jeans, I appreciate the fact that have sustained their wash regardless of how many times they have been in the washing machine!

Luckily, (no pun intended), there’s a sale on select men’s and women’s items going on right now! You can also receive FREE SHIPPING on orders over $50. It is the perfect time to try a pair of these jeans for yourself or check out their accessories and apparel which I also love!

Thanks for stopping by! I hope some of you are enjoying time off on this President’s Day!!

Stay Inspired!

Mommy & Me Vol. 2

To The Mom

To the single mom, the working mom, the stay home mom, the tired mom, the hormonal mom, the struggling mom, the defeated mom, the poor mom, the rich mom, the good mom, and even the bad mom:

Our days may look different but our purpose is the same

We face each trial and triumph with the same end game.

This perfect little child was entrusted to us

We never imagined it’d be such a fuss

I can’t do this! We think once a day

Then we feel guilty for thinking this way.

Where’s your other half who pledged his love to you

One day you woke to find that he was through

Where are the days when you just want to be home

But it pays the bills to go answer that phone

Where’s the break, when there’s no end in sight

You aren’t sure how long you can fight.

Where’s the rest that you so desperately need

“Let this child sleep”, to the Lord you plead.

Where’s the peace when it’s emotions you face

You are ashamed to be in this kind of state.

Where’s the quiet place when you’re facing a struggle

But the kids need you to be there on the double

Where’s the hope when you’ve lost it all

You aren’t sure how many times you can fall

Where’s the money when you have none

You can’t take the pressure, you are done

Where’s the content with all that money

It doesn’t buy happiness, you were told that honey

You see we seem to think that each mom has it better

But there’s always a storm that one has to weather.

Let’s not compare who has it worse

But change our mindsets and see our self worth

Regardless of your role, we have one that’s the same

To raise a child the best we can, we have the same end game.

Ham & Cheese Sliders

These ham and cheese sliders have been a huge hit at two big events recently, Adler’s Birthday and the Super Bowl. They are seriously sooooo good! Since I have had a few people inquiring about the recipe, I thought I would just go ahead and share it!
These are pretty easy to make and do not require a lot of ingredients! I do want to note that I leave the minced onions out of the recipe when I make them! Hope you guys enjoy 🙂
Ingredients
  • 24 white dinner rolls
  • 24 pieces honey ham
  • 24 small slices Swiss cheese
  • ⅓ cup mayonnaise
  • ⅓ cup miracle whip
Poppy seed sauce:
    • 1 Tablespoon poppyseeds
    • 1½ Tablespoons yellow mustard
    • ½ cup butter, melted
    • 1 Tablespoon minced onion
    • ½ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
Instructions
  1. In a small bowl, mix together mayonnaise and miracle whip. Spread onto both sides of the center of each roll. Place a slice of ham and a slice of Swiss inside of each roll. Close rolls and place them into a large baking dish or heavy cookie sheet. Place very close together.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together all of the poppy seed sauce ingredients. Pour evenly over all of the sandwiches. You do not have to use all of the sauce! Just use enough to cover the tops. Let sit 10 minutes or until butter sets slightly. Cover with foil and bake at 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes or until cheese is melted. Uncover and cook for 2 additional minutes or until tops are slightly brown and crispy. Serve warm. Note: Sandwiches can be assembled ahead of time. I don’t like to do it more than a day ahead because they can get soggy from the mayo mixture.

The Little Black Dress For All Body Types

With Valentine’s Day approaching, I know a lot of you may have a special occasion planned with your loved one. With that can come a lot of pressure. We all want to look our best for our man.

When putting together a look for you guys, I tried to find something that would work for ALL shapes and sizes. This little black dress is solving the worlds wardrobe problems one body type at a time!

A sweater dress is very form-fitting, true, but it is also made of a material that will stretch to fit. How do I know? You ask. Well, I wore this exact dress when I was 7 months pregnant and it still fit like a charm. So I’m confident when I say a sweater dress can fit all shapes and sizes.

Also, if you are feeling blue about your current weight or body status, one can never go wrong with a solid black outfit! Some tips: I am wearing a large, so if you are questionable a large did give me wiggle room. Also the dress linked is not the exact dress I have on, but I’ve done my research and they are almost identical! I will link the outfit information below!

First of all I have a slight obsession with blush and I know it may be a problem. But in honor of love and because I don’t love red as much as pink, here are some Valentine’s Day inspired gift ideas for all you men and women out there tired of spending $50 on flowers that get thrown away! For mine and my husband’s first Valentines Day I slowly opened a nicely wrapped box to receive a pair of new Nike tennis shoes. I was a little speechless to say the least (we were freshly dating). I liked them. I guess! He went on to explain that if he was going to spend money on me for Valentine’s Day, he wanted it to be on something that would last and I could use over and over.
Now before you get your panties in a wad and become all judgemental, he has since bought me flowers and chocolate and treated me to a romantic dinner. However, sometimes it’s nice to switch things up a bit! So ladies, here’s a list of some things you can ask your man for this year instead flowers! And men, surprise your lady with a little thoughtful gift this year as opposed to the  alternative! You can just call me cupid 😉
I hope everyone has a great Valentines!
P.S. if you’re single, buy one of these cute things for yourself!

Breaking The Rules

Don’t mix brown and black. You can’t mix gold with silver. Absolutely do not wear white pants after Labor Day….ooops!

There are so many fashion rules out there that honestly, I’m not sure even exist anymore, but everyone is still trying to implement them. I say join the rule – breaker club and wear whatever you want! Ok, maybe not whatever you want, but seriously, fashion has evolved so much over the last few years, that there are really no “rules” anymore. White is a color that can and should be worn all year around. I was getting a little bored with my jeans so I picked up these white pants the other day and I think I love them. They’ve lightened up my look and have me day dreaming about some warmer weather. P.S. I also wear brown with black. I am a true rebel. Whose with me?
