Wednesday night I drove my baby boy to my mom’s house to be dropped off for the weekend. If you follow me on Instagram, I already talked a little bit about this. It is the hardest thing to leave your kids and go on trips after you become a mom! I used to hear women say this and think, “That is crazy! It’s just a couple of nights, and you need the break.” It’s just different when it is your own. I feel guilty, like he is being mistreated by being left! Are there any other moms who deal with trip anxiety? My mind also goes to dark places, like, “What if we get in wreck and leave him behind.” What? Why do we do this to ourselves?! I know we shouldn’t feel this way, but something changes when you become a mom. Continue reading “Road Trippin’”
Today has been the most relaxing day! I am currently sipping some Starbucks while Joshua is on the golf course. I wanted to share with you how we ended up in St. Augustine and tell you about Bluegreen vacations while I have a moment to blog! Continue reading “Bluegreen Vacations”
Hi friends! I’m writing to you from my bed in St. Augustine on this beautiful Saturday morning. I can’t wait to share more details from our trip in my upcoming blog posts. Continue reading “Hello From St. Augustine”
It’s been a couple weeks since our trip to Florida and I’ve been doing some reminiscing. There’s one thing I know for sure, and that is you cannot go to the beach without eating at a good Seafood restaurant! We arrived in St. Augustine late on a Thursday afternoon and did not feel like driving much more. We decided it would be a good night for some local seafood, so we asked around to find the best one. We were in luck! We landed at St. Mary’s Seafood restaurant. Joshua got the cat-fish and I had the crab cakes (my seafood favorite). It was soooo yummy! Our sides were bacon mac n’ cheese and cream corn. This rarely happens, but I ALMOST ate every bite. We were very pleased with our experience there! Continue reading “Pink Flamingos”
There’s so many reasons I love Easter! It is such a sacred and joyous day! My little family and I had a slow morning eating breakfast and getting ready. We allowed enough time to get some pictures before we left home, because after church is pure chaos! We were blessed to attend an awesome church service where we were fed The Word and were able to sing Praise and Worship! Wouldn’t it be awesome to start out every day like that?!
After church we headed to Joshua’s parents where his mom always spoils us with a homemade Easter meal. We all enjoyed each other’s company around the dinner table. Later we had our first swim of the season (in the heated pool I might add!) We napped, played outside, and ate some more! Life with a toddler makes these memories so much more! Watching Adler interact with his cousins, discover Easter eggs are not balls after all, insist on wearing his bunny ears, and laugh at water being splashed, ahhhh! Does it get any better?
Goodness! I am still recovering from the weekend of activities with our families. I’m sure you all had your own busy weekends. Though they are tiring, they make my heart full! Continue reading “Good Friday”
What’s not to love about the Pom Pom trend going on right now?! I’m having so much fun in the this top. I’m calling it my fiesta top! Continue reading “Let’s Have A Fiesta”
Raise your hand if a good day of shopping makes you feel like you’ve conquered the world?! Yesterday my sisters, mom, and the kiddos headed to Knoxville to enjoy their last day of Spring Break.
We accomplished getting Easter outfits for all, some Easter basket stuffings, and ate until we were sick. We always go to The Cheesecake Factory on our day trips to Knoxville. If you’ve never had their Fried Mac and Cheese, you HAVE to go and try them! We had a mid day pick me up from Starbucks. I’m now hooked on their Mocha water. It’s a green tea drink that is sweet, light, and refreshing!! We finished out our day at The Buttermilk Sky Pie Shop. It was the cutest little shop where you get a personal size pie in the flavor of your choice. The coconut cream was to die for. The best part, they will have a Johnson City location in a month!!!!
Overall, it was a great day. The kids were a little stir crazy by the time we got to the pie shop, I think they were happy to see us leave!Needless to say, I love these days!
I’m linking my favorite purchase of the day, these adorable Pom Sandals!!! Happy Monday you guys!
I LOVE celebrating Holidays and really soaking up the joys of each one. I have such fond memories of Easter, and I want to continue these fun times with Adler! This year is technically his second Easter, but he wasn’t fully able to enjoy it last year. I decided since he’s at an age to attempt egg hunting that I would go ahead and buy his “forever” Easter basket, or bucket in this case. I found this one on Etsy and could not let it pass me by. It’s only 22 bucks and it’s made of metal so it will last forever. Divide that by however many years and it cost me like a dollar a year! Give or take ….. And that is how I justify my purchases.
