Christmas Shopping

It’s 10am and so far my day has gone a little something like this…

I sat down to feed Adler breakfast and Sprocket decided he HAD to go to the bathroom right then! He paced back and forth with his annoying little whimper until I finally heard enough and got up to let him out.

So Adler finishes breakfast and we go to change his SECOND poopy diaper of the morning, when we come back to find Sprocket had jumped onto my white couch with his muddy little paws. He gets put in time out, but as soon as he’s out  he’s attached to my hip. I’ve put up two loads of laundry and stumped my toes on his lanky legs no less than 15 times this morning. I really do love him. He just tests my patience.

Adler on the other hand rose at 6:30 and was full of energy. He’s already tried to eat mud, toilet paper, a contact case, and a hair bow. When he’s not trying to cram every object he finds in his mouth, he’s in the bathroom ripping the toilet paper to shreds, going through my jewelry box tangling my necklaces, and figuring out ways to escape past the horrific contraption of toys I have piled to block the stairs, so he can’t climb them.

I don’t know about you guys, but I’m already tired! Nonetheless I’ve poured my cup of coffee and we are going to march on to try to do some more Christmas shopping. Shopping stories with a baby is a whole other blog entry. Are there other moms with me?  Luckily, one thing did go right for me and I was able to get a shower and put this outfit together and post on the blog while Adler napped and before the chaos reconvenes!!

Family Fall Staples

Anyone close to me could tell you that Fall is my absolute FAVORITE. I love everything about the season; the weather, activities, the food, but mostly the captivating colors in my surroundings. That was my inspiration for these outfits.

Today I’m sharing some family Fall staples that create the perfect epitome of the season. The color pallet I chose is mustard, gray, navy, and maroon. I think these all go nicely together, and you can pair them any way you want! Switch them up or keep them the same as I have shown.

My go-to Fall sweater is this mustard beauty from Banana Republic. I’ve had this one for a couple of years but you can find a similar one here. I decided to accent mine with a gray leather tassel necklace. EVERYONE needs a mustard top in their closet for Fall!

My choice for baby is a flannel and coordinating sweater. I just so happened to find a mustard and gray flannel. I paired it with a navy sweater from baby gap and gray pants from Gymboree. That’s the great thing about mustard, it compliments different colors well.

My pick for his and her bottoms are dark jeans! I am trying to convert myself to be more open minded to other shades, because I LOVE dark jeans …and maybe I will later on, but for now, Fall and dark jeans it is. Mine are Ann Taylor Loft, from a consignment store :). I told you all I like to save money, but here’s a link to a similar pair.

His dark jeans are Calvin Klein slim straight. They are on sale at Belk right now. Due to comfort, he can be a tough one to please, but he loves these.

The third accent color I chose was a maroon sweater. You can find this one for him at Banana Republic. I paired it with a gray thermal from Gap to tie in the grays from mine and Adler’s outfits 🙂

And like that, you are a coordinating Fall family! I hope I’ve left you feeling inspired. My last tip is to not overdue it on any one color. Make sure you evenly distribute among the outfits. That’s the look I prefer anyway! Have a blessed Monday.
